Partners in Education Award
In 1991 the CDCSS established the "Partners in Education" award program to recognize school and community cooperative efforts that promote success in the classroom and in life. This award honors a non-school individual and/or an organization that provide programs, activities and actions that enable others to learn and become more active citizens and members of the community.
Robert Neiderberger Award
The CDCSS recognizes members who have achieved in social studies education in an exceptional way. The award named for Bob Neiderberger, an exceptional educator. **In order to receive this award, the educator and nominator must be current members of the CDCSS**
Laurence C. Rainey Memorial Scholarship
For a high school senior with aspiration of becoming a Social Studies teacher or entering a field that heavily relies on the knowledge of the Social Studies.
Teachers: Please send a recommendation for a current high school senior who aspires to become a social studies teacher or seeks a career that relies on the knowledge and understanding of history, geography, civics, economics, and sociology. Ideally, it would be student who espouses the values and drive you believe are essential for success as a social studies teacher. Include your name and contact information, the student's name, contact information, and current high school name. Also, ask the recommended student to write a short essay detaining his or her future aspirations. You should include this essay along with your recommendation.
***In order to receive this scholarship, the recipient must be able to attend the Neiderberger Awards Dinner in May***
