Project PATCH (Law-Related Education Program of the Northport – East Northport UFSD), in partnership with the John F. Tinker Foundation, is proud to offer these lost-cost, high-quality Professional Development opportunities for New York Teachers.

Space is limited. Seats are available “first-come, first-served.”

Join NYSCSS Distinguished Social Studies Educators, David Scott and Janis Schachter for a full day of Professional Development focused on Civic Readiness through News Literacy and Civic Literacy. Participants will be empowered with instructional strategies and resources that will transform how teachers prepare students for responsible, active, informed, engaged, and meaningful participation in civic life. Participants will acquire new teaching strategies and resources to build students’ civic knowledge, skills, dispositions, and experiences in ways that will meet our shared goal of civic readiness for all students.
