The Letters of Alonzo Bump, Victory Mills, New York, 77th New York Volunteer Regiment, 1862-1865

What: A Civil War Education Program based on letters written by Alonzo Bump, a soldier from Saratoga County serving in the 77th NY Volunteer Regiment.

How: To examine and analyze letters, photographs, census records, and maps in order to understand personalities and issues involved in the Civil War. Use the traveling version of the Bump exhibit, including reproduction artifacts of the Civil War.

Why: To see first hand, through primary sources, the relationships among people who were directly affected by the Civil War.
