Capital District Council for the Social Studies (Albany, NY)
A completed application includes a completed form, a resume (no more than two pages), an essay (750 words), and two letters of recommendation. The resume should describe relevant teaching experience and educational background, with particular attention to leadership roles, professional development, student engagement, and examples of innovative teaching practice. The application essay should explain the reasons for applying, show how the subject of George Washington is relevant to the applicant’s teaching, and describe how the applicant will take what they’ve learned and make an impact on their learning communities (with students or educators in your school/district/state, in-person or online). Participants will be able to earn professional development credits for renewal of state certification.
Written materials must be submitted with the online form as PDFs, and completed at one sitting, so those materials should be ready to upload before beginning the online application. Recommendations can be submitted with the online application or sent as email attachments to me at awinand@mountvernon.org.
