NYSCSS Study Tour to China

Summer 2016

The New York State Council for the Social Studies (NYSCSS) and EF Education First are working together to create international study tours exclusively for NYSCSS members. Our first study tour will be to China in July 2016. By joining NYSCSS in China you will learn about the ancient influences upon today’s China, visit local schools, speak with education officials, and even stand atop the Great Wall. Your classroom will never be the same after exploring China with fellow NYSCSS members, and you can even earn professional development credit!

The NYSCSS Professional Learning Study Tour to China is a 10-day program that will go from July 12-21, 2016. During the tour, NYSCSS members will visit Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi’an. You will see some of the greatest historical sites in the world including the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an and the Great Wall. You will also witness firsthand China’s remarkable growth and development and how ancient and modern China coexist. Whether you teach Global History, are just introducing your students to China, or if you simply want to experience the intersection of ancient and modern China, this experience is the opportunity of a lifetime.

Check out our detailed itinerary (PDF).
