Capital District Council for the Social Studies (Albany, NY)
The New York Geographic Alliance is proud to sponsor GeoFest 2015 in cooperation with the Department of Chemistry/Geosciences of Monroe Community College.
This conference is open to all teachers, pre-teachers, college instructors and students, and anyone else who loves geography. We will begin the morning with a Plenary Session (refreshments included). This will update participants on what is going on in geography in the coming year. Then there will be three workshop sessions (Building 11) with a wide variety of choices for ALL grade levels. At the end of the third session, there will be an optional lunch and a short afternoon session with cool demonstrations and a raffle of freebies!
We charge a small fee for the morning sessions to cover breakfast and an additional charge for the optional lunch. All participants will receive good teaching materials, including the Atlas of New York: Legacies of the Erie Canal.
Certificates will be distributed for professional development credit.
We are currently accepting registrations for GeoFest 2015. Registration is available online at http://www.nygeographicalliance.org in the Events Section.
