Historic Saratoga Springs Walking Tour

Thursday, June 9, 5:30 pm

Park where ever you can find a spot in Downtown Saratoga.  The free lot along Spring Street is between where we’ll start and the ending point but anywhere downtown is within walking distance.  (See www.saratoga.com/aboutsaratoga/parking/)

Meet at Deer Park Spring in Congress Park at or before 5:30 pm.

From there, we will stroll up Broadway exploring landmarks and discussing features of Saratoga past and present. Along the way you’ll learn some fun and fascinating historical facts the Spa City.  We will loop around and end up at the Hamlet and Ghost Speakeasy on the corner of Caroline Street & Maple Avenue.  Located at 24 Caroline Street by the corner of Putnam Street, the Hamlet & Ghost was once a feed and grain store in the 1870s. It became a hardware store during Prohibition—an alleged facade to a hidden gambling spot within.  Our tour is being provided by Dave Patterson of Saratoga Tours LLC (www.saratogatours.net).

The event is free for CDCSS members, and only $20 for guests.  Participants must register so we’re sure to plan for the appropriate the total number and your name is officially on our list. DEADLINE to register: Tuesday, June 7. The event will take place rain or shine.
