Artifacts in the Classroom: A Day at the Museum

  • 14 Mar 2017
  • 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Albany Institute of History & Art

Spend a day at the museum! This conference is an opportunity for teachers to learn how to develop creative interdisciplinary lessons using artifacts, documents, and art at the region’s most prestigious museum.

This educator friendly day will start with a tour of the museum followed by coaching in the art of creating innovative standards-aligned lessons. A catered lunch will allow time for teachers to work with peers in designing challenging questions aligned to the standards. The last half of the day will be devoted to creating unit and lesson plans that contain compelling questions about artifacts. These will be collected and shared with all participants.
