Understanding and Developing the Enduring Issues Essay

at Bethlehem High School — Thursday, June 1, 4 to 7pm

Presented by Dan King and Donna Merlau from the State Education Department

Cost: FREE for current CDCSS members - (please login to the CDCSS site first to access this option)

Only $20 for non-members (will include a one year membership to the CDCSS, if desired.)

Sign-in/Registration will begin at 3:40 pm.

Clinic will begin at 4 pm.

Participants of this 3 hour clinic will examine in depth the prototype Part 3 Enduring Issues Essay.  They will work in small groups with provided documents to develop an Enduring Issues Essay, identifying enduring issues within each of the documents and mapping the documents to the Grade 10 Framework.  Participants should be able to take this experience and apply it in their classrooms and schools.

Based on the Grade 10 global history and geography curriculum, this element of the exam will be administered for the first time statewide in June 2019.  Now is the time to prepare for these changes!

CDCSS will offer participants 3 hours of CTLE credit for attendance.

Please contact Mary Miller at mmiller@nynpa.com to register four or more teachers and paying through a district purchase order.
