Saratoga Springs was founded as a health resort and has had a very strong history of mineral water use found not only in drinking the waters but also in bathing. Many Saratogians know about the proud history of the Spa State Park and their mineral bath houses, but did you know Saratoga Springs was offering mineral baths to visitors as early as the 1790's? This Brown Bag Lunch will discuss the roots of our mineral baths and how mineral bath use helped to make us the number one tourist destination in the 1800's.
