Civil War Era Walking Tour of Albany Rural Cemetery

Thursday, July 28 - 4:30 to 6:45 pm

Albany Rural Cemetery is a place where much of our local history converges with the final resting place of many famous and some lesser-known figures who contributed greatly to our region’s history and heritage. Join Cemetery Board President, Mark Bodnar for a walking tour of some of the Cemetery’s Civil War Era graves and monuments.

While the tour will include grave sites of Civil War soldiers, we will also visit the final resting places of local merchants and others from the same era.

Be sure to wear appropriate footwear (bug spray is recommended) and be prepared to walk on hilly and unpaved terrain.

Please enter through the main gate Broadway entrance (Route 32 and Cemetery Avenue), stay straight at the fork and parking is available near the Chapel.  Meet in the Chapel by at least 4:15 pm.

Cost is $10 per person - Children are FREE!

Proceeds will be donated to The Friends of the Albany Rural Cemetery.
