Peebles Island Historic Preservation Tour
Tuesday, August 5, 1-3:30 pm
Join us for a private tour of Peebles Island-- the headquarters of New York State Bureau of Historic Sites and Bureau of Historic Preservation Field Services. Tour the facilities and see the work of the historians, curators, conservators, and other specialists who provide technical services, such as analysis of artifacts, material culture preservation, and preparation of exhibits for the 35 historic sites maintained by State Parks.
Following the tour, visitors are welcome to walk the easy trail around the island and/or join colleagues for a beverage or something to eat at one of several nearby eateries.
