GEO Fest 2013

  • 19 Oct 2013
  • 260 Madison Avenue Albany NY 12230
The New York Geographic Alliance is pleased to announce that we will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary as an organization promoting geography at GeoFest 2013 at the New York State Museum in Albany. It will be a day full of workshops and tours of the museum on October 19, 2013. We believe it is fitting that we mark this occasion in our state capital.

We will not be charging any fees for this event, if you register before October 1, 2013. It is OUR gift to you on OUR birthday! There will be lessons presented from our new module on the Erie Canal and on the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Initiative. We will try to have presentations on other topics. If you would like to have a geographic tour of museum exhibits, there will be three offered: New York City Hall, Adirondacks Hall, and the current exhibit, Irrespressible Conflict: New York in the Civil War. We also hope to have vendors and non-profit exhibitors. The NYGA is looking for presenters. If you are interested, please contact Tim McDonnell, and he will send you an application form.

Food will be provided, and of course, there will be cake. After lunch, there will be a keynote address, a special awards presentation, and a raffle for goodies.

Go to the New York Geographic Alliance website at www.nygeographicalliance.org to register for these events.
