Social Studies: Creating Pathways to Success, will be taking place in Albany from March 31 through April 2, 2016. Social Studies helps lead students to success in both their personal and public lives. The themes of our 78th annual convention focus on the role that social studies plays as a key to unlock multiple pathways for students to follow in their journey toward achievement and success. Empowering ALL Students Centered on promoting success and empowerment for all students through a focus on engaging Students With Disabilities and English Language Learners, and implementing culturally responsive teaching practices.
Technology & Innovation Dedicated to promoting and developing innovative ways for reaching our students and the changing ways our students engage in social studies and with each other.
Leadership & Learning Aimed at creating and sustaining professional learning communities, best practices in professional development, and teacher and administrator leadership.
